The maid of honor speech

I had some requests from some of you asking for Tracy's speech. It was amazing, right?!?! Anyway, she was gracious enough to share it with me again. Here it is: Hello and welcome to all; family, friends of new, and friends of old to the joining of two very unique and extraordinary individuals. This union represents a lot of effort on both of their parts. David taking on a Father roll that he never had to be. Meagan accepting and trusting a man in her life that cherishes her and her daughter as his own.

I have known Meagan for 17 years now and counting, and I can honestly say I have never seen my best friend happier. She has joy in her heart and it is resonating around her like a vale. As I stand here today, looking at my beautiful friend in her wedding gown, I’m overwhelmed with emotions and memories.

Meags, from the moment we met at Colorado Home Realty, working hard at the start of our careers and dreams, I knew you were going to be a special part of my life. Little did I know then that I was meeting the person who would become my sister in all but blood, my partner in adventure, and my rock through all of life’s ups and downs.

I remember the day you told me about David. We were having our weekly luncheon, and your eyes lit up in a way I’d never seen before. You talked about him with such joy and excitement, and I knew then that this was something special. Watching your love story unfold has been like watching the most beautiful flower bloom – delicate, vibrant, and full of life. I met David early in their courtship at a restaurant and I could tell these two were a match made in heaven. They both had this smile that you could not have wiped off of their faces with any amount of effort.

Meags, you’ve been there for me through every important moment of my life. You held my hand when I was nervous about my changes in my career. You stayed up all night with me, while I was going through my personal challenges. You were the first person I called when I decided to move in with my soulmate, and the shoulder I cried on when I faced my kids had their growing pains. Your kindness, your strength, and your unwavering support have been a constant source of inspiration to me.

To David, you’re marrying not just a beautiful woman, but a beautiful soul. Meagan has a heart big enough to love the whole world, and I’m so grateful that she’s found someone who loves her just as fiercely and completely as she deserves. The way you look at her, the way you support her dreams, the way you make her laugh – it’s everything I could have hoped for my best friend.

To the happy couple, may your love continue to grow stronger with each passing day. May you face life’s challenges hand in hand, celebrate its joys heart to heart, and always find comfort in each other’s arms. May your life together be filled with as much laughter, love, and beautiful moments as you’ve brought into the lives of everyone in this room.
